I was looking for a job when I was offered a position that was perfect for me. However, after signing the contract, my starting date was delayed as the company had to shift office. I still haven’t heard anything after a month. What should I do? – Pris,23 PDF Print E-mail

Contact the company via email or phone to check on any updates regarding your start date and the status of the office shift. Email would be good as you would then have tangible proof of your exchanges with them.

If you no longer feel like working in this company, it’ll be best to speak to them directly about whether you can be released from your contract as they’ve also kept you waiting on their part. If they insist that you start, read the terms of your contract to see if there’s a release clause. If not, seek a lawyer’s opinion on how you can terminate the contract.
