Hot weather is no excuse to stop exercising. Here’s what you can do to beat the summer heat.

- Be an early bird– Early in the morning – right before the sun rises is probably one the coolest time of the day to head out. Plus, once your jog is over and done with in the morning, you won’t need to think about it for the rest of the day

- Invest in light sportswear – Lightweight, breathable, wicking clothes are a must. These will pull moisture away from your skin so you feel cooler. Wearing a hat to keep the hot sun off your head and face helps as well.

- Shorten or split up your workouts - If ten minutes is all the intensity you can take for now, do just that. Just repeat that ten minutes later.

- Stay hydrated – To avoid dizziness, stomach cramps and headaches, make sure you sip four to eight ounces of water every 15 to 20 minutes

- Replenish your electrolyte intake – Drop some electrolyte capsules to replenish the electrolytes you lose through perspiration.
